What Fix My Speaker is, and whether it genuinely works

Tap the button below. It plays a low‑frequency sound that vibrates the speaker and pushes trapped water and dust out of the grille. Turn your volume up to about 80%.

Frequency 165 Hz Time left 0.0 s

💡 Point the speaker downward so gravity helps the water escape. Repeat 2–3 times if needed.

Speaker Fix Tool

Select your issue and run the appropriate fix cycle to restore your speaker audio in about a minute.

Preparation

Before you start

🧻

Wipe visible water

Dry the outside of your phone first.

🔽

Speaker facing down

Let gravity help pull the water out.

🎧

Disconnect Bluetooth

Ensure audio plays through the phone's internal speakers.

🔊

Volume around 70-80%

Never use earbuds. Turn volume up, but 100% isn't required.

Core Features

Fix My Speaker Functions

Our tool is designed to target the three most common speaker issues using precise acoustic frequencies. Whether your phone took a dive or just sounds muffled from pocket lint, here is how we fix it.

Hover over the cards below to see the effect
💧

Eject Water

Clear trapped water from your phone in about 60 seconds. The steady 165 Hz vibration physically pushes trapped liquid out of the speaker mesh.

Eject Water

A steady 165 Hz tone — the sweet spot for maximum diaphragm travel — physically pushes trapped water out.

🧹

Clean Dust

Use our deep clean mode to act as a dust remover. Sweeping low frequencies shake loose stubborn dirt, sand, and lint.

Deep Clean

Sweeps across low frequencies (120–400 Hz) to shake loose lint, dust and stubborn droplets the single tone misses.

🎵

Restore Volume

Act as a volume booster for muffled speakers. Clear out blockages to restore heavy sound, loud bass, and crisp audio.

Test Sound

A clean 440 Hz reference tone so you can hear whether your speaker sounds clear again after cleaning.

Perfectly safe. These are ordinary frequencies your speaker already plays during music. The tool never exceeds normal listening levels — it just concentrates the energy at the frequency range where diaphragm travel is greatest.

This is a fair question, because plenty of tools online claim more than they deliver. Here is the honest answer, including where the claims made for this method are exaggerated.

For a complete overview, see the full water ejection walkthrough.

Yes, the basic idea is genuine

The method is real and Apple uses it themselves. The Apple Watch has a built-in water-eject function that plays low-frequency tones through the speaker to push water out after swimming. The physics is straightforward: low sounds move the speaker membrane a long way, and that movement pumps water out through the opening.

Where the claims are exaggerated

Three things you will see online that are not true:

What it genuinely does

Removes water sitting in the speaker cavity, and loose dust or pocket lint from the mesh. For those two problems it works well, costs nothing, and carries no risk at moderate volume.

What it genuinely cannot do

Oil and earwax do not respond — they stick to surfaces rather than resting loosely, and vibration cannot break that kind of bond. A torn membrane, a corroded contact, a loose wire or a failed amplifier are all hardware problems that no sound addresses.

How to know which you have

Blockage sounds muffled but complete. Damage sounds different — buzzing that worsens with volume, or total silence. Blockage makes sound quiet; it never makes it disappear entirely.

The most important thing after water

Do not charge the phone for 24 to 48 hours, however good the speaker sounds afterwards. Electricity across a damp charging port is the most common cause of permanent damage.

FAQ

Common questions

How long should I run it?

Thirty to sixty seconds per cycle, repeated two or three times with short pauses. Running it continuously for many minutes adds nothing once the accessible liquid is out, and only heats the voice coil.

Should I set volume to maximum?

No. Around 70 to 80 percent is the practical sweet spot. Maximum volume on a restricted diaphragm produces distortion rather than more displacement, and adds avoidable stress to the driver.

Does the rice trick work?

No. Rice is a poor desiccant — open moving air dries a device faster — and its starch dust migrates into the charging port, microphone holes and speaker grille, which can create a second problem on top of the first.

It is still muffled after several tries. Now what?

Stop. If three cycles produce no improvement at all, the cause is not blockage. Check the symptoms on our guide to when a sound tool will not help, and have the device inspected rather than continuing to run cycles.

Can this damage my speaker?

No. The frequencies used sit inside the range your speaker already reproduces whenever you play music, and the tool runs at moderate volume rather than maximum. The one genuine caution is earbuds: never run ejection tones into in-ear devices while you are wearing them.

What this cannot fix

Our tool is great for water and dust, but it cannot fix physically blown speakers or electrical damage.
