The short version

The speaker tool runs entirely inside your browser. It generates tones locally using the Web Audio API. It does not ask for microphone permission, does not record audio, and does not transmit any audio anywhere.

Information we do not collect

• We do not require an account, and we do not collect names or email addresses unless you choose to email us.
• We do not request or receive microphone access.
• We do not record, store, or upload any audio.
• We do not sell personal data.

Information that may be collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs — IP address, browser user-agent, requested page, and timestamp — for security and troubleshooting. If analytics are enabled, they are used only in aggregate to understand which pages are useful.

Cookies

The tool itself does not require cookies to function. Any cookies present come from analytics or embedded third-party services, and you can block them in your browser without affecting the tool.

Third parties

Pages may link to external sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we recommend reviewing their policies before providing information to them.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Contact us at hello@fix-my-speaker.net.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page.

Legal basis for processing

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our lawful basis for processing the limited server-log data described above is legitimate interest — specifically security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. We do not rely on consent for this, because the data is not used for profiling or marketing. Where analytics cookies are used, consent is the basis and you may decline without any loss of functionality.

Data retention

Server logs held by our hosting provider are retained on their standard schedule, typically a matter of weeks, and are not archived by us. Email correspondence is retained only as long as needed to resolve the matter it concerns. We do not maintain a customer database, because there are no accounts.

International transfers

Our hosting and any analytics providers may process data outside your country of residence. Where that occurs, transfers rely on the standard safeguards those providers maintain, such as standard contractual clauses.

Automated decision-making

We carry out no automated decision-making or profiling. The tool does not adapt to you, does not build a profile, and behaves identically for every visitor.
