About Fix My Speaker

Fix My Speaker is a free, browser-based tool that plays controlled low-frequency audio through your device’s speaker to push out trapped water and loose debris. There is nothing to install and no account to create.

What the tool actually does

A speaker produces sound by moving a diaphragm back and forth. At low frequencies that diaphragm travels its greatest physical distance. Around 165 Hz, most small phone speakers reach a useful combination of excursion and force — enough to break the surface tension of water sitting in the speaker cavity and push droplets out through the grille. Apple uses the same principle in the Apple Watch water-ejection feature.

The deep-clean mode sweeps a range of low frequencies rather than holding one tone, which helps dislodge lint and dust that a single fixed frequency can miss.

What it cannot do

The tool clears blockage. It does not repair hardware. A torn diaphragm, a corroded contact, a failed amplifier or a disconnected cable will not respond to any tone. We keep a plain-language guide to the symptoms that mean you need a technician, because sending someone away with false hope is worse than telling them to stop.
