Perfectly safe. These are ordinary frequencies your speaker already plays during music. The tool never exceeds normal listening levels — it just concentrates the energy at the frequency that moves water best.
Most failures come from setup rather than the tool. Six preparation points decide whether it works, and all of them take seconds.
Remove the cover. Covers overlap the speaker slot and trap water against it.
Dry the outside. Soft cloth, press gently, do not rub. Rubbing pushes water into
gaps.
Turn Bluetooth off completely. In settings, not just disconnect. If earphones or a
car system are connected, the sound goes there and nothing happens to your speaker. This is the
single commonest reason people think the tool failed.
Disconnect any wired earphones.
Set volume to 70–80 percent. Start the sound first, then adjust — otherwise you
may be changing ringtone volume instead of media volume.
Check nothing else is playing.
How to hold the phone
Speaker slot facing straight down, phone tilted about 45 degrees. This matters more than any setting.
Held flat, water that comes out settles right back beside the opening. Tilted down, it runs off the phone
completely. Hold it away from your clothes, which absorb water and can wick it back.
Running the cycles
Run for 30 to 60 seconds. Stop. Wipe the speaker area with a dry cloth. Then run again. Two or three
cycles for water; four or five for dust.
The wipe between cycles is not optional — without it, the next cycle pulls the same water back in.
How to know it is working
Listen to the tone itself. If water is present it often sounds slightly dull at first, then becomes
clearly sharper and louder partway through without you touching the volume. That change is the water
breaking free. If the tone sounds exactly the same from start to finish across three cycles, nothing is
happening.
Checking afterwards
Record a short voice note before you start, and play it back after each cycle. Comparing against the
same file is far more reliable than trying to remember how it sounded.
After finishing
Do not charge for 24 to 48 hours. Use wireless charging if your phone supports it.

No. The frequencies used sit inside the range your speaker already reproduces whenever you play music, and the tool runs at moderate volume rather than maximum. The one genuine caution is earbuds: never run ejection tones into in-ear devices while you are wearing them.
How long should I run it?
Thirty to sixty seconds per cycle, repeated two or three times with short pauses. Running it continuously for many minutes adds nothing once the accessible liquid is out, and only heats the voice coil.
Should I set volume to maximum?
No. Around 70 to 80 percent is the practical sweet spot. Maximum volume on a restricted diaphragm produces distortion rather than more displacement, and adds avoidable stress to the driver.
Does the rice trick work?
No. Rice is a poor desiccant — open moving air dries a device faster — and its starch dust migrates into the charging port, microphone holes and speaker grille, which can create a second problem on top of the first.
It is still muffled after several tries. Now what?
Stop. If three cycles produce no improvement at all, the cause is not blockage. Check the symptoms on our guide to when a sound tool will not help, and have the device inspected rather than continuing to run cycles.
What this cannot fix
Our tool is great for water and dust, but it cannot fix physically blown speakers or electrical damage.
