Perfectly safe. These are ordinary frequencies your speaker already plays during music. The tool never exceeds normal listening levels — it just concentrates the energy at the frequency that moves water best.
Intensity is the setting people reach for when a cycle does not work, and it is usually the wrong lever. There is a ceiling above which more intensity actively reduces effectiveness.
Around 70–80 percent of maximum volume. Below that you are leaving useful displacement
unused. Above it, the amplifier begins clipping the waveform — flattening its peaks — and the
diaphragm spends part of each cycle held at full extension rather than travelling smoothly. The
motion becomes a buzz rather than a pump, which is less effective at moving liquid, not more.
What happens at maximum
Three things, none good. The waveform clips, reducing clean travel. The voice coil heats
rapidly, and heat raises resistance which further reduces output as the cycle continues. And on a
diaphragm that is already restricted, the excess energy has nowhere useful to go.
When high intensity is genuinely warranted
Large drivers. Bluetooth speakers and laptops have more moving mass and
more thermal headroom. A higher relative setting is safe and sometimes necessary.
Heavy, confirmed liquid. If the device was submerged and the first cycles
at moderate intensity produced partial results, one higher-intensity cycle is
reasonable.
When high intensity causes damage
A visibly torn or punctured grille or mesh. Driving a damaged diaphragm
at high excursion enlarges the tear. This is the clearest case for stopping entirely.
Earbuds and in-ear devices. Tiny drivers millimetres from your eardrum.
Never run high intensity through them, and never while wearing them.
Anything already buzzing. Buzzing that worsens with volume indicates
mechanical damage. Increasing intensity makes it worse rather than clearing it.
The better lever when a cycle fails
Not intensity — orientation and technique. Grille pointing straight down at about 45 degrees,
case removed, Bluetooth fully off, wiping between cycles, brushing the exterior first. These
change results more than the intensity slider does, and none of them carries any risk.
The honest test
If three cycles at 70–80 percent produce no audible change, the mechanism is not engaging.
Turning it to maximum does not make it start; it just heats the coil.

No. The frequencies used sit inside the range your speaker already reproduces whenever you play music, and the tool runs at moderate volume rather than maximum. The one genuine caution is earbuds: never run ejection tones into in-ear devices while you are wearing them.
Should I set volume to maximum?
No. Around 70 to 80 percent is the practical sweet spot. Maximum volume on a restricted diaphragm produces distortion rather than more displacement, and adds avoidable stress to the driver.
How long should I run it?
Thirty to sixty seconds per cycle, repeated two or three times with short pauses. Running it continuously for many minutes adds nothing once the accessible liquid is out, and only heats the voice coil.
It is still muffled after several tries. Now what?
Stop. If three cycles produce no improvement at all, the cause is not blockage. Check the symptoms on our guide to when a sound tool will not help, and have the device inspected rather than continuing to run cycles.
Will this void my warranty?
Playing an audio file does not modify your device or open it, so the tool itself has no warranty implication. Note separately that liquid damage is usually excluded from standard warranty cover regardless.
What this cannot fix
Our tool is great for water and dust, but it cannot fix physically blown speakers or electrical damage.
